Which lighting in the bedroom?
In the
bedroom proper lighting is just as important as in the living room or in the
kitchen. The room is not only for sleeping but also as a retreat for reading
or watching TV. Therefore, several illuminations are optimal: warm white light
as general lighting for relaxing and cool white for accent lighting as for the
cupboard or make-up area. CREST LED shows you what to look for in the lighting
there.

Different types of lighting in the bedroom
The day
begins and ends in the bedroom. For this reason, it is important to use
different types of lighting there, because the room is used at different times
of the day with different projects such as sleeping, dressing or make-up.
Accordingly, it also requires several types of lighting. Many people use the
bed as a retreat for reading, watching TV or just relaxing. Warm white light is
ideal for this. Mostly, the wardrobe is in the bedroom - then different color
temperature is needed, namely a cold white. In order to be able to use warm and
cool white light in a targeted manner, we present below the ideal lighting
options for general and accent lighting in the bedroom.
General lighting
The general
lighting or basic lighting of the bedroom is usually the ceiling light. This is
used when the main light switch is pressed. The uniform illumination of the
room illuminates all objects in the room, giving a better overview of the room.
In a small
bedroom, a simple LED ceiling
light consisting of an LED lamp and lampshade is sufficient. For a larger
room, a rail system in combination with led track lights
is the best solution. With movable reflectors, the light can be individually
aligned on shelves and cabinets. We recommend a warm light color and a high
color rendering index in both cases. This is more pleasant to your eyes than a
cool color temperature.
Accent lighting
Accent
lighting can highlight individual objects such as pictures or the wardrobe in
the room. The lighting must be brighter, i.e. have a higher Kelvin value than
the general lighting, otherwise, it does not come into its own. It is normally
not controlled by the main light switch, but by its own switches, which are
located directly on the object or on the associated lamp. In addition to
spotlights, there are also LED strips for the use of accent lighting, which can
be mounted, for example, behind the head of the bed, so that indirect light is
radiated from the bed to the wall. This is how the bed is staged.
Dimmable lighting
Dimmable
lamps such as the CREST LED come especially well in the bedroom to light. With
the light, you can not only change the light intensity but also the color
temperature individually. So you benefit from different color temperatures
without having to use several lamps with different lights. With the CREST LED Scene
Switch it is also possible to dim the lights without a dimmer. If you want the
best color rendition, opt for the CREST LED Expert Color, as it has a common
reference index of 90 to 99. The lamp is perfect for your cabinet or make-up
mirror, as it reproduces the colors true to color.
